Delhi Mung Beans & Rice Bowl is a deliciously wholesome and balanced meal prepared with organic sprouted mung beans, yellow lentils, basmati rice, a whole lot of vegetables,  and cooked with aromatic herbs and spices. Have it for a light and refreshing meal on a workday or pack it up for your camping or trekking trips. All ingredients used are non-GMO, gluten-free, vegan, high in plant-based proteins, & rich in nutrients and antioxidants.

Inspired by the richness and zesty flavors of Delhi, the capital, and located in the northern part of India, it is warmly spiced with green chilies and garlic to create an amazing flavorful meal!

We believe in the idea that foods should be consumed in their whole and original form and never processed. We freeze-dry our mung bean and rice bowls to retain their nutritive value and natural flavors and color.

Why We Love It

Plant-based protein: Lentils are much more eco-friendly way of getting protein than animals. Consider the numbers. Raising cattle for beef requires around 20 times more land and 7.5x more water than growing lentils for protein. It's a lot less carbon too 1g of beef generates about to 25 kg of CO2 equivalent, while 1 kg of lentils generates roughly 0.4 kg of CO2 equivalent

Lentils: Lentils are legumes, which are known for their nitrogen fixation properties. Nitrogen fixation is the process by which nitrogen from the air is converted into a usable form for plants. This can help to reduce reliance on synthetic fertilizers, which can have negative environmental impacts.

Impact

Plant based protein reduces our reliance on animal agriculture, which is a great thing, for a lot of reasons:

Animal agriculture is responsible for around 14.5% of global greenhouse gas emissions, including 65% of the world's nitrous oxide emissions which has a global warming impact 296 times greater than carbon dioxide.

It requires a lot of land too, in fact animal agriculture is the leading cause of deforestation globally and it uses around 70% of the world's agricultural land, despite only providing a fraction of our total calorie intake.

And water too, livestock production alone is estimated to take up ~8% of the world's freshwater resources.

All these are just some of the great reasons to focus on plants instead.
